FAQ

Roughcasting questions, answered.

How long does roughcast last?

A properly applied roughcast finish gives you 30+ years before it needs touching, assuming the substrate underneath is sound. We always dig into the existing render before quoting.

Will you paint it after?

Traditional roughcast is left grey or limewashed. Modern monocouche is through-coloured and never needs painting. If you want it painted later, masonry paint over a fully cured roughcast is fine.

Can you work in winter?

We work year-round but cure times stretch in cold weather and we will not throw roughcast onto a wall that is going to freeze overnight. We plan around the forecast.
